District Transport Office Ramgarh. (Awakening)
Devanshu Shekhar Mishra, Ramgarh. Some trouble has increased for the old vehicle owners in the district and its surroundings i.e. neighboring Bokaro district.
Earlier, for the fitness of old vehicles, it was easy to go to the District Transport Office and get the fitness certificate. Now this system has been stopped in the entire state from the month of January.
As per the instructions of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, now such vehicles will have to go to ATS i.e. Automated Testing Station for fitness at private level. According to experts, at present it is present only at four places in the entire state, two in Ranchi, one in Jamshedpur and one in Hazaribagh.
To get fitness of all types of private and commercial vehicles here, one will have to visit either Hazaribagh or Ranchi. In both the situations, vehicle owners and transporters will have to cover a distance of 120 to 130 kilometers more.
Apart from this, while going to the capital Ranchi, people will face the problem of no entry etc., hence this ATS has been made separately at the divisional headquarters Hazaribagh Barkagaon Road. Since Ramgarh, Bokaro and Dhanbad districts mostly have heavy goods vehicles running in collieries and other industrial units of Coal India.
In such a situation, covering such a distance will become a problem for the transporters and vehicle owners here. Due to this, additional expenses will also be heavy on their pockets. According to the transporters, if there is a holiday in the collieries of the area on Sunday, then the fitness of the vehicle will not be done on Sunday because ATS will remain closed on Sunday.
Till now MVI was doing fitness work.
The MVI working in the District Transport Office had been doing the fitness of the old small and big private and commercial vehicles running on the road. Related commercial vehicles like buses etc. will have to face the problems of route permit etc. to go for fitness.
Otherwise, in this situation, their vehicles will sometimes come under administrative action, which will become a cause of trouble for the vehicle owners.
Due to closure of fitness work in Ramgarh, their problems have increased. Till now he had no problem due to the previous arrangement in Ramgarh, now traveling to Ranchi and Hazaribagh will be full of problems for him.
If ATS was established in Ramgarh district, it would have provided convenience to the vehicle owners and transporters of nearby Bokaro and Dhanbad districts, but after the current order, problems will increase for all of us.
Dinesh Sahu, vehicle owner cum transporter
It is not possible to take vehicle to Ranchi Hazaribagh. There is not even a day off in collieries and railway sidings. If the holiday is on Sunday, then their work will not be done on Sunday, because ATS will remain closed on Sunday. This is a needless decision for us and a heavy burden on our pockets.
