Jagran correspondent, Patna. In view of the large crowd of people who gathered at the ongoing Saras Mela at Gandhi Maidan on Saturday and Sunday, the traffic police has made changes in the traffic arrangements. Routes of vehicles in and around Gandhi Maidan will be diverted from 12 noon to 8 pm on 20th, 21st and 27th and 28th December (Saturday-Sunday).
During this period, there will be no movement of vehicles from Kargil Chowk towards Children Park. Parking will be restricted around Gandhi Maidan during this period. Special restrictions will remain in force on the movement of three-wheelers, buses, handcarts and footpath vendors.
Traffic police said that three-wheelers coming from Ashok Rajpath towards Gandhi Maidan will be diverted back towards Ashok Rajpath from Double Decker Point itself. Under no circumstances will three wheelers be parked at Kargil Chowk.
Similarly, all the buses passing through Kargil Chowk will operate through Exhibition Road. Autos or e-rickshaws going towards the station from Kargil Chowk have been allowed to go towards the station from Ramgoolam Chowk via Exhibition Road or SP Verma Road via Buddha Marg. Movement of three wheelers from JP Golambar towards Chhajju Bagh will be completely banned.
One-way from Children Park to Kargil Chowk
Vehicles coming from JP Ganga Path will be driven in the direction of Kargil Chowk from Children Park under one-way system. During this period, vehicular movement from Kargil Chowk to Children Park will be completely closed. Special parking arrangements have been made for the vehicles of people coming to see the Saras Fair.
Common people will enter from Gate No. 12 and park their vehicles in the empty space in front of Gate No. 10. After parking, vehicles will be able to exit from gate number 10 only. Parking of any type of vehicle has been completely stopped around Gandhi Maidan. There will be a ban on entry of handcarts or footpath vendors on Gandhi Maidan and its surrounding roads from 12 noon to 8 pm.
