Jagran correspondent, Moradabad. An incident that put humanity to shame came to light in front of the emergency of the district hospital on Monday afternoon. A woman was declared a mental patient and treated inhumanely. The woman was forced to lie down at the footrest of the e-rickshaw like an animal, in a semi-nude state. The surprising thing is that despite there being so many people, everyone remained spectators.

Everyone moved on wondering who meant me. This entire incident is said to have happened between 2:30 pm and 2:55 pm, the video of which is being circulated rapidly on the internet media. In the video, people kept watching this entire incident like spectators. As soon as the matter of misbehavior with the woman came to light, she ran with the hospital SIC staff.

After putting a bedsheet, the woman was barely dressed and sent away from there. In the video circulated, it is clearly visible that a young man is holding the woman by her hair and making her stand. The woman is repeatedly claiming herself to be completely fine and saying that a fake mental illness certificate has been made for her and she is being beaten.

The woman kept pleading for help, but the people present there remained mere spectators. No one came forward to save the woman or even tried to cover her. The incident happened in a sensitive and crowded place like the district hospital, where doctors, nursing staff, security personnel and attendants of the patients are present all the time.

Despite this, the woman was kept standing in this condition for about 25 minutes, which raises serious questions on the hospital's arrangements and sensitivity. On receiving information about the incident, Additional Director and Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Sangeeta Gupta reached the spot along with the staff nurse. They immediately covered the woman with sheets and got her dressed. After this the woman was sent from there.

After this, he reprimanded the employees present on the spot and instructed that such negligence should not happen in future. After the incident came to light, questions are also being raised on the role of the health department and the district administration. This kind of treatment of a woman by claiming to be mentally ill is not only a legal offense but is also condemnable from social and moral point of view.

After getting information about a woman being half-naked in front of the emergency, I myself reached there along with the female staff nurse. The woman was made to wear clothes. After this he was sent from there.
