Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the budget in Parliament on Sunday, announced the construction of seven high-speed rail corridors in five major cities, of which the Delhi-Varanasi high-speed rail corridor is the major one. This corridor will pass from Delhi to Varanasi via Noida and Noida International Airport.
This corridor will boost connectivity to the district as well as to Noida International Airport. This corridor will provide great relief and convenience to the passengers traveling from Delhi to Noida. This will also improve connectivity from Noida International Airport to Delhi, Agra and Varanasi, which will further increase the number of passengers using the airport.
With the commencement of construction of Noida International Airport, preparations for the Delhi-Varanasi high-speed rail corridor have also intensified. After the implementation of this project, passengers will be able to reach Noida International Airport from the country's capital Delhi in just 21 minutes.
According to the preparations by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the 800 km long corridor of Delhi-Varanasi High-Speed Rail Corridor will pass through Gautam Buddha Nagar district. One bullet train station will be built in Noida, while the other will be near Noida International Airport.
With this, the distance of approximately 62.5 km from Delhi to Noida Airport will be covered in just 21 minutes, while the journey from Noida International Airport to Agra will be completed in just 33 minutes. The journey from Delhi to Lucknow will be completed in two hours 30 minutes and from Delhi to Varanasi in just four hours.
According to sources, the Delhi-Varanasi high-speed rail corridor will pass through Mathura, Agra, Etawah, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Prayagraj and Bhadohi before reaching Varanasi.
Corridor to airport along with expressway in the district
The plan is to build a high-speed rail corridor along with the expressway, which will connect it to Noida Airport. This corridor will be built along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway in Noida and then along the Yamuna Expressway till Agra. This will give a big boost to Yamuna Authority after the airport, which will further increase industrial investment in Yamuna region. from the airport corridor
Number of tourists will increase
After the construction of the corridor, Noida Airport will be directly connected to the holy city Varanasi. There is also a plan to connect this corridor to Ayodhya in future. Visitors from India and abroad visiting the airport will be able to easily reach Prayagraj, Ayodhya and Kashi, as well as Mathura, Vrindavan and Agra through the high-speed rail corridor.
