Not Only Delhi, But The Whole Country! Atishi Wrote A Letter To Home Minister Amit Shah On Law And Order, Asked For Time To Meet.

Digital Desk, New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party leader of opposition Atishi has written a detailed letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the rapidly deteriorating law and order in the capital Delhi.

In this letter, Atishi, citing the criminal incidents that have taken place in recent months, said that the atmosphere of fear and insecurity has deepened in the minds of people in Delhi. He has appealed to the Home Minister to immediately intervene and give him a meeting.

Mention of serious criminal incidents

In the letter, Atishi mentioned several major criminal incidents that took place in Delhi in sequence -

1. Murder of AAP worker Rachna Yadav

Atishi wrote that AAP worker Rachna Yadav was shot dead near the residence of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. He alleged that the attackers fired bullets at him after asking for his identification.

The case appears to be a “clearly targeted killing,” and the incident raises serious questions about security ahead of his testimony scheduled for February 7.

2. Bomb blast near Red Fort

On January 10, 2025, 13 people were killed and many were injured in the blast near the Red Fort. Atishi said that the explosion near such a sensitive and historical place raises big questions on the security system of Delhi.

3. Case of murder of woman by Delhi policeman

Referring to the incident of a woman being shot by a policeman in front of the crowd in December 2025, Atishi said that this incident highlights the serious problem of police indiscipline and mental stress.

4. Murder outside the gym in Greater Kailash

Atishi described the public murder of a youth outside a gym in Greater Kailash (GK) as an "incident that exposes the law and order situation in areas considered ultra-secure". He said that criminals are continuously committing crimes even in such areas which are considered 'elite and safe zones'.

5. Firing incidents in Paschim Vihar, Green Park and East Delhi

Atishi described the incidents of firing one after the other in many areas of Delhi on the night of 13–14 January 2026 as a matter of grave concern.

Law and order not under control – Atishi

In the letter, Atishi said that the allegations against Delhi Police, delay in action and lack of accountability are continuously coming in front of the public. He wrote that, despite Delhi Police being directly under the Central Government, effective control on crimes does not seem to be established.

Delhi's security is not just a state matter

Atishi said in his letter that since Delhi is the capital of the country, its law and order is linked to the prestige and internal security of the entire country. He raised the question that when the country's capital is not safe, how can citizens maintain trust in the security system?

Request for immediate meeting with Home Minister

Urging the Home Minister, Atishi wrote, you are requested to provide time to meet in person on serious issues related to the deteriorating law and order of Delhi, accountability of police administration and safety of citizens.

He expressed hope that the Home Minister will consider this very serious issue with sensitivity and take necessary steps.
