State Bureau, Chandigarh. Participation of women in Haryana's police force will be increased. Till now the share of women police force in the state police force was 15 percent, which is going to be increased to 25 percent.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini informed about increasing the participation of women in the police force in the review meeting of the implementation of budget announcements related to the Home Department. The Chief Minister said that the government is continuously taking decisive steps to strengthen women's safety and modernize the police system in the state.
The Chief Minister said that soon there will be recruitment on six thousand posts in the police department, out of which 1,250 posts will be reserved only for women. Seven new women police stations will be established in the state for the safety of women.
At present 33 women police stations are operating in Haryana and the process of establishing new police stations is going on in various districts. Women's help desks and increased deployment in the field have made it easier for women to access the police, thereby expediting the disposal of complaints.
Regarding road safety, the Chief Minister directed to expand the speed radar network in Panchkula along with Gurugram, Faridabad and Hisar to curb speeding and reckless driving. This system will be based on the model of successful traffic management system of Chandigarh.
During the meeting, it was told that Haryana is the leader in the country in preparing the framework for the implementation of the Indian Civil Defense Code, Indian Judicial Code and Indian Evidence Act. All necessary notifications, rules and procedures have been issued and extensive training programs and iGOT Karmayogi modules have been implemented for officers and employees associated with the justice system.
The Chief Minister has approved Rs 150 crore in the first phase to equip the police force with state-of-the-art technology and infrastructural facilities. Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, Dr. Sumita Mishra said that to strengthen the forensic science services, modern equipment and software are being purchased with an amount of Rs 68.70 crore.
Along with this, approval has been given to set up 17 new mobile forensic science units. Eight special fast track courts have been set up in important districts including Hisar, Ambala, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat and Sirsa to ensure speedy trial of NDPS cases. Central NDPS Monitoring Cell has been established in Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau.
