Jagran correspondent, Aligarh. A lot of motorcycles and cars are seen running on the roads. Among these, there are such vehicles which have caste related words, slogans or stickers on their number plate or front part of the vehicle. Now strict action will be taken against such vehicle owners and drivers.

In this regard, DM Sanjeev Ranjan has issued strict instructions adopting zero tolerance policy. He said that violation of the instructions of the government and Allahabad High Court will not be tolerated. If such vehicles are seen anywhere, action will be taken including challan, fine and even confiscation of the vehicles.

Instructions given to take action on challan, fine, vehicle confiscation

The DM also instructed the SP Traffic and Transport Department to run a joint campaign for this. Said that from the city to the rural areas, all such vehicles should be identified and action should be taken to immediately issue challan, fine and confiscate the vehicles as per requirement. Writing any word indicating caste, class or community on the vehicle other than the number plate is a violation of the Motor Vehicles Act. Such words affect social harmony and can become a potential threat to law and order.

SP asked traffic and transport department to run joint campaign

The administration intends to completely end any kind of caste based demonstration in public places. Police and transport departments should inform people about the rules. Encourage them to voluntarily remove caste related words. Warned that if such words are found on any vehicle after the campaign, it will be considered a deliberate violation and strict legal action will be taken.
