The Health Department has started a new technological initiative for the convenience of patients. Information about availability of medicines can be obtained through QR code in all the hospitals of the district.
Under this initiative, QR codes have been installed in Sadar Hospital, Sub-Divisional Hospital, Referral Hospital, Community Health Center and Primary Health Centers. By scanning this code from their mobile, patients will be able to know which medicines are available in the hospital.
Let us tell you that different QR codes have been made for different health centers, which are displayed in the hospital. This is a big step towards making health services transparent. This technical initiative has been taken so that patients can properly avail the benefit of free medicine distribution facility.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Harendra Kumar said that there is already a system of free medicine distribution in government hospitals, but the patients were not able to get information about the availability of medicines, due to which they faced problems. Now this problem will be solved through technology.
This new system will bring relief especially to those patients who come from far away places and were forced to buy expensive medicines from private shops in case of non-availability of medicines in the hospital.
Now they will be able to know in advance whether the concerned medicine is available or not, which will save both time and money. According to the instructions issued by the Health Department, as soon as the patient scans the QR code, the list of available medicines will appear in green color on his mobile screen and the list of unavailable medicines will appear in red color. This system is completely based on real time data, due to which the patient will be able to get accurate and latest information.

This initiative of the Health Department is being considered an important step towards digital health services in the state. This will increase transparency and also strengthen the trust of patients. This better use of technology in government hospitals is expected to improve health services. If this system is operated smoothly, it can become an example in the times to come.
