Digital Desk, Bhopal. Finally, preparations have started to provide individual tap connections instead of bulk connections in covered colonies. After three years, its proposal is being sent to the council. As soon as the green signal is received from here, individual tap connections can be provided in about 829 colonies of the city. It is estimated that this entire project will cost around Rs 874 crore. Which also includes tap collection and smart meter.
This proposal will be placed in the council meeting to be held on January 13. Apart from this, two other proposals regarding determination of marriage registration fee and green municipal bond will also be placed. In fact, during the Municipal Corporation elections in the year 2023, it was announced that soon individual tap connections will be given in place of bulk connections in the capital Bhopal. After three years, this proposal has now been prepared and sent to the Council.
SE Udit Garg of the Corporation's Water Works said that at present there are a total of 1566 colonies in Bhopal city, out of which 829 are such colonies in which the Municipal Corporation is supplying water through bulk connection. For a long time there was a demand to provide water through individual connections in these colonies. Therefore this proposal has been prepared and sent to the council.
801 crores will be spent only on laying the line and interconnection
According to the proposal, if the corporation does the maintenance in these colonies, then a total of Rs 801 crore is estimated to be spent for valvemen, operators, supervisors etc. and interconnection including laying of pipelines. Its DPR has been prepared by the corporation.
Smart meters will also be installed
It is said that there are 74 thousand 905 houses in these colonies. In these, supplying water through smart meter will cost Rs 9,709 per house. Due to which the total expenditure will increase by an additional amount of Rs 72 crore 73 lakh. , Therefore, the total expenditure including installation of smart meter will be Rs 874 crore 43 lakh. At the same time, the residents of these colonies can get the work done for water supply maintenance through outsourcing. For which the agency will pay bulk connection fee of Rs 17 per thousand liters to the city. This expense will be taken by the agency from the concerned colony.
Consent of 70 percent residents is required
According to the proposal, consent will have to be taken from the colony residents for individual connections in the colonies. In this it is necessary to get more than 70 percent consent. Only then will individual connection be given. The process of providing individual connections will start in these colonies on the basis of first come, first served system.

Agenda released, meeting to be held on 13th
The council meeting of the corporation will be held on 13 January. Its agenda has been released recently. In this there is a proposal to fix marriage registration fee. According to the proposal, if you apply for marriage registration within 30 days, a fee of Rs 130 will be charged. After thirty days a fee of Rs 110 will be charged. The second proposal is for Green Municipal Bond. The corporation will raise the amount of contribution in Amrit 2.0 from this bond. According to the proposal, Rs 200 crore will be raised through bonds.
