Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. Consumers of Subhashnagar and Madhinath areas, who are facing the brunt of power cuts and tripping, are going to get big relief this month. To reduce the load of overloaded Subhashnagar sub-centre, a new power house is being built near Karagaina in the same area. Whose work has reached the final stage. It is being claimed that it will be made operational this month itself. Due to which about 30 thousand consumers will be benefited.
Consumers of Subhashnagar and Madhinath area have been facing the problem of electricity for a long time. During summer, the electricity crisis is most severe in these localities. The main reason was that the supply to these sub-stations came from Dohna power plant, 14 km away. The Electricity Department had solved this problem to a great extent by making the newly constructed transmission sub-station on Badaun Road operational a few months ago, but even now Subhash Nagar and Madhinath sub-stations are overloaded.
To provide a permanent solution to the problem, efforts were going on for many years to build a new power plant at Karagaina on Badaun Road, but the land issue was getting stuck. The reason is that the place where the power house was to be constructed was earlier allotted to the police department for building a police station.
When the matter reached the higher officials, after brainstorming the matter was sent to the government. After months of hard work, the land was made available to the Electricity Department, after which construction started. The construction of the new substation has now reached the final stage. On Sunday, Chief Engineer Zone Pratham Gyan Prakash took stock of the sub-station under construction.
He directed the SDO and JE to maintain pressure on the contractor, the construction work will be completed and it will be energized by the end of this month. Preparations were made by the department that the entire load of BDA-1, BDA-2 feeders will be transferred to the new sub-station. Some feeders of Madhinath sub-centre will also be connected to this power house.
He claimed that the new power plant will be energized by the end of this month. With this, 30 thousand consumers of Subhashnagar and Madhinath area will get relief from low voltage and tripping. He said that the consumers of Subhashnagar area will no longer have to face electricity crisis during summer.
He informed that all the sub-centres of the city have been connected by double line. If there is a fault in one line, the supply is immediately restored from the other line. Appealed to consumers to pay bills on time and cooperate in stopping electricity theft. Every possible effort is being made to provide uninterrupted supply to every consumer.
