The State Election Commission has extended the deadline for the ongoing voter verification campaign for the Panchayat elections. अब दावे और आपत्तियों के निस्तारण सहित सभी प्रक्रियाएं 27 मार्च तक पूरी की जाएंगी। The final voter list will now be published on March 28 instead of February 6.
The Commission had published the draft voter list on December 22, in which there were a total of 12.69 crore voters. 40.19 lakh more than the year 2021 elections. The Commission had invited claims and objections, on which lakhs of claims and objections have been received. Keeping these in view, it has been decided to extend the time limit.
In the notification issued by State Election Commissioner RP Singh, it has been said that claims and objections will be resolved between January 7 and February 20. After this, preparation of handwritten manuscripts, verification of potential duplicate voters and other documentary work will be completed.
He said that between February 21 and March 16, preparations will be made for computerizing the supplementary voter lists and they will be included in the original list. Polling centers and polling booths will also be determined during the same period. At the same time, during March 17 to March 27, work like numbering of polling stations, mapping of wards of polling stations, voter numbering and allocation of state voter number will be done. After completion of all these processes, the final voter list will be published on March 28.
