Jagran correspondent, Lucknow. After any railway accident, it will now be investigated more thoroughly. After the accident, instead of investigating the incident in the traditional way, railway officials will also investigate it from new aspects. For this, after all small and big accidents, evidence will be collected by recording the incident with drones. Railway Board has issued guidelines regarding this to all zones including North Eastern Railway.
After the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express accident that took place in Gonda in the year 2024, the report was accompanied by a recommendation to change the method of investigation.
The Accident Relief Train (ART) staff providing relief work at the time of an accident will be provided training from forensic experts in videography, recording of site observation and preservation of evidence. Along with equipment related to rescue and relief work, drone cameras will also be kept in ART.
After the accident, traffic will be restored on the blocked route and aerial videos will be prepared. By observing the rolling stock from above and clearly, it will be ascertained whether any mechanical fault is the cause of the accident.
After the Gonda accident, the Commissioner of Railway Safety has made many similar recommendations to the Railway Board. Accepting these recommendations, the Board has issued instructions related to ART and drones to all zones.
