Jagran correspondent, Sahibabad. On Mahashivratri, the pagodas of Trans Hindon temples looked amazing when decorated. Long queues formed in the temples since morning for Jalabhishek. During this, along with Jalabhishek, the temple echoed with the chants of Har-Har Mahadev. Devotion to Lord Shiva was visible everywhere.

A crowd of devotees started gathering at Durga Mata temple in Mohannagar from 4 am in the morning for Jalabhishek. Here thousands of devotees performed Jalabhishek on Shivalinga. Police force also remained deployed during this period. 21 Narmadeshwar Maha Shivalingas were called from Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga for Rudrabhishek in the ancient Sanatan Dharma temple of Kaushambi.

Here, after Jalabhishek in the morning, the couples performed Rudrabhishek together in the evening. During this time women also performed bhajan and kirtan. After this, Maha Aarti and Prasad distribution will also be done. Pandit Dr. Girish Mishra, the head priest of Shri Shiv Shakti Temple located in Parshvanath Paradise Society, Mohan Nagar, said that all the preparations had been made in the temple a day before. Devotees started arriving from morning itself to offer water.

Arrangements of Ganga water were also made for the devotees in the temple. Mahashivratri was celebrated with great pomp in Shiv Shakti Hanuman Mandi of Nyay Khand 3. Pandit Surendranath Sharma, Ramesh Jaiswal, Devendra Kumar, Dev Kumar, Ranjan, Khushboo Pathak etc. were present on this occasion.

Two thousand Shiva devotees performed Jalabhishek

About two thousand Shiva devotees performed Jalabhishek on Mahashivratri in Shipra Riviera ancient Hanuman temple. There was a long queue here since five in the morning. Children, elders and women all were enthusiastic. Performed Jalabhishek with Ganga water brought from Haridwar. Everyone also performed aarti collectively. Bhandara was organized at gate number one of the society. Prasad was distributed to the devotees along with applying sandalwood tilak.

There was a crowd of devotees in the temples of Loni also.

On Mahashivratri, long queues of devotees started forming from morning in the temples from city to village in Loni. Chants of Har Har Mahadev kept echoing in the temples. Devotees worshiped Lord Shiva while observing fast. In many temples, devotees had to wait for two to three hours for Jalabhishek.

During this period, grand Shiva Shringar, Shiva Aarti and Bhajan Kirtan were also organized in the Shiva temples. Thousands of devotees performed Jalabhishek in Moksh Dham Temple of Banthala, Shiv Temple of Balram Nagar, Shiv Sanatan Temple of Rahul Garden etc. Keeping security in mind, members of the Temple Development Committee, police force, women police and volunteers remained engaged in serving the devotees.
