Operation Langda: Two Animal Smugglers Injured In Encounter With Police In Hardoi, Four Arrested

Budh Pal of Shahjahanpur was shot in his left leg and Devendra alias Haggu of Alapur, Badaun was shot in his right leg.

Jagran Correspondent, Hardoi: As part of continuous action against animal smugglers, late on Saturday night the police surrounded the miscreants who were running away after stealing a buffalo on a pickup. These people started firing on the police.

When Swayajpur police retaliated, two accused were injured by bullets and two others were also caught by the police. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.

Umesh of village Silveri of Sawayajpur had his buffalo stolen on Saturday night. The thieves were taking away a buffalo loaded in a pickup. On information, the police chased the thieves. The thieves turned the pickup towards Ganga Expressway.

When the police laid siege to the service road, the thieves, seeing themselves surrounded by the police, started firing. In the firing by the police, Budh Pal of village Keelapur, Mirzapur, Shahjahanpur was shot in his left leg and Devendra alias Haggu of Alapur, Badaun was shot in his right leg. Along with them, the police arrested Rati Pal of village Dukrikala of Madnapur in Shahjahanpur and Hrithik of village Bari Khas from the spot. Police have recovered the stolen buffalo, pickup, Rs 1.30 lakh, four pistols and cartridges from the injured accused. Both the injured accused have been admitted to the hospital.

CO Harpalpur Satendra Singh said that four cases are registered against these four in Swayajpur and Harpalpur. 11 cases each are registered against Budh Pal, Rati Pal and Devendra in Badaun etc. districts. The accused have been sent to jail.
