Digital Desk, New Delhi. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Thursday wished the nation a Happy New Year and praised India's decisive actions under Operation Sindoor, saying "this operation continues even today."
In a post by ADG PI-Indian Army, General Upendra Dwivedi noted that the Army is going through a decade of transformation, citing "jointness, self-reliance and innovation" as the pillars of India's defense strategy.
He stressed the need for indigenous technologies and new ideas to make the Army future ready. The Army Chief said, “The Indian Army is ensuring the security of the country with utmost vigilance and determination. Last year, the evil designs of the enemy were appropriately responded to through concerted and decisive action under Operation Sindoor and this operation continues even today. Along with vigilance on the borders, the Army has played an important role in national progress through quick response during disasters in the country.
'Army going through a period of change'
General Upendra Dwivedi said, “The Indian Army is going through a decade of transformation, where jointness, self-reliance and innovation are the main pillars of our strategic strength. Through effective use of indigenous technologies, new ideas and continuous improvements, we are making the Army more capable and future ready. Networking and data-centricity are giving new impetus to this change.
He further said, "I express my gratitude for the contribution of every citizen. Your trust, cooperation and unity is our greatest strength. To achieve the goal of Developed India 2047, the Indian Army will continue to contribute to security and nation building."
