Jagran correspondent, Patna. In the last six months, under Operation Zakheera, Son and Gambler, West Patna Police conducted intensive operations against crime and illegal activities in various police stations and arrested hundreds of people involved in illegal weapons, drugs, liquor and gambling.
According to the report released from the office of the City Superintendent of Police (West), a total of 205 illegal weapons have been recovered during Operation Zakhira and Operation Son since June 17, 2025. These include 105 pistols, two revolvers, 45 pistols, 11 rifles, one AK-47 rifle and two pen pistols. Along with this, 61 magazines, 2419 live cartridges and 206 shells were also seized.
Under the NDPS Act, police have seized 20.11 thousand grams of ganja and 3243.19 grams of smack. Whereas a total of 49 thousand liters of liquor including 23,984.62 liters of country liquor and 25,811.035 liters of foreign liquor were recovered. 139 jurors were arrested. Rs 5.33 lakh cash, 24 vehicles and 38 mobile phones were seized from them.
144 accused arrested in murder case
During the same period, a total of 5,710 criminals were arrested in various cases including murder, dacoity, robbery, dowry death, attack on police, rape etc. These include 144 accused of murder, 17 of dacoity, 36 of robbery, 44 of rape, 25 of dowry death and 44 accused of attacking police.
Under Operation Muskaan, 196 missing mobile phones were recovered from different police station areas and handed over to the rightful owners. Their estimated price has been estimated at Rs 58.80 lakh. The recovered mobiles include 103 phones from Danapur area, 65 from Phulwarisharif and 28 from Paliganj.
