Jagran correspondent, Dehradun. To get justice for Ankita Bhandari, various social and political organizations have now announced to intensify the struggle under the banner of 'Ankita Nyaya Yatra Joint Sangharsh Manch'. In the press conference held at the Press Club on Thursday, the organizations associated with the platform called for a torch procession from Gandhi Park on January 10 and a state bandh on January 11. Also, an appeal was made to all parties and organizations to support the movement.

Mahila Manch President Kamla Pant said that this fight will continue until the name of the alleged VIP is not revealed in the case. He said that the topic of VIP has been quoted in the court order and it has also been mentioned in the chat between Ankita and her friend. In such a situation, the government should make the names of VIPs public and conduct a CBI investigation under the supervision of a Supreme Court judge.

Kamla Pant alleged that new developments are coming to light every day in the case, but the government is trying to protect influential people. He said that an attempt was made to destroy evidence in Vananthara, who did this and on whose instructions, this should also be revealed. The progress of the assistance announced by the government for Ankita's family should also be informed.

Mohit Dimri, convenor of Mool Nivas Bhu-Kanun Sangharsh Samiti, accused the Chief Minister of diverting the matter. He said that his parents have been demanding a CBI inquiry for three years. The Chief Minister's statement that if the parents want, there will be a CBI investigation is just an evasive statement. What should have happened was that Ankita should have gone to her house and met her parents, but by calling them here, the meeting was turned into an event. The movement is completely peaceful, yet the Chief Minister's statement that some people want to spoil the atmosphere of the state is unfortunate.

This is not a fight of any one party or organisation, but a common fight of the people. Members of Sanyukt Sangharsh Manch said that they met Ankita Bhandari's parents on Thursday morning. Even today his eyes become moist whenever Ankita's name comes up. The family is facing a future crisis. The government had announced to give job to the son and open a nursing college in Ankita's name, but till now these promises have not been fulfilled.

Representatives of many organizations including Gajendra Bhandari (Secretary, Garhwal Sabha), Sulochana Ishwal (State President, National Regional Party), Shanti Bhatt (Spokesperson, UKD), Uma Bhatt (Gyan Vigyan Samiti), TS Negi (National General Secretary, Uttarakhand Equality Party) and Vinod Dhasmana (State President, All India Equality Forum) were present in the press conference.
