Padma Awards 2026: Left Government Job And Took The Path Of Pursuing Hindi Literature, Now Kailash Chandra Pant Will Get 'Padma Shri'

Digital Desk, Bhopal. On the eve of the 76th Republic Day, the Central Government announced the Padma Awards. Among the four eminent personalities from Madhya Pradesh who will be awarded the Padmashree decoration, one name is that of 89-year-old Kailash Chandra Pant, a prominent Hindi litterateur. His selection is being considered a proud achievement not only for Madhya Pradesh but for the entire Hindi literary world.

Born on 26 April 1936 to Leeladhar Pant, originally from Khantoli village of Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, Kailash Chand Pant is now the soul of Madhya Pradesh. Pant, born in Mhow near Indore, is a Hindi litterateur, journalist and a prominent Hindi lover. His early education took place in Mhow and Indore.

Leave job and concentrate on literature and journalism

The turning point in his life came when he left the government job and opened an independent press and started publishing the weekly paper 'Janadharma', this project continued for 22 years. Established 'Swadhyaya Vidyapeeth' in Mhow. Construction of Kisan Bhavan and development of Hindi Bhavan in Bhopal.

dedicated to the promotion of the national language

Kailash Chandra Pant was the Assistant Minister of Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti, Wardha. Presently he is the national coordinator. He was the national coordinator of the Indian campaign. Edited the prestigious magazine Akshara of Madhya Pradesh National Language Promotion Committee. Major works like ‘Kaun Kiska Aadmi’ and ‘Dhundh Ke Aar Paar’ were published.

Have received many honors

Kailash Chandra Pant has previously received many national and state level decorations including Brijlal Dwivedi Samman, Nirala Sahitya Samman, Sahitya Bhushan, Hindi Sevi Samman and Sanskriti Gaurav Samman.
