The Postal Department will now provide you this facility sitting at home. The postman will generate a digital life certificate through biometric verification at a fee of Rs 70.
Relief to 11 thousand pensioners
Let us tell you, there are more than 11 thousand pensioners in the district, for whom it is mandatory to give proof of their existence every year to continue their pension smoothly. Many times, due to problems, he is not able to submit his life certificate in November. In such a situation, all of them have to visit the bank branch or treasury office to give their certificate.
Postman will give proof of being alive
But, now pensioners will get rid of all this. The postal department will now prepare the pensioner's survival certificate and send it to the concerned branch through postman. The Postal Department has introduced a practical and accessible solution to this problem through the use of technology. This means that now the postman will not only bring the letter, but will also give proof of your being alive.
Biometric verification will provide convenience
According to the information, instructions have been given to the postmen posted in 89 post offices of the district. The Postal Department has started this initiative under home banking service. Under this, the postman will reach the pensioner's house carrying a special device with him. The pensioner's thumb impression will be taken with this device. As soon as the biometric data is verified through Aadhaar, the digital life certificate will be immediately updated to the concerned bank or pension providing institution.
Pensioner will have to pay only ₹ 70 fee
Postal Department officials said that to avail this facility the pensioner will have to pay a fee of Rs 70. This amount is much less than the fare to go to banks and the inconvenience there. As soon as the process is completed, a confirmation message will come on the pensioner's mobile.
