Communication Assistant, Koderma/Markachho. Pankaj Kumar (49), clerk of Markachho block office, died suddenly on Monday night at Koderma junction of Dhanbad-Gaya railway section. Pankaj Kumar was a resident of Gondapur in Nawada district of Bihar. His wife is working as a teacher in a government school in Gaya district.
According to the information received, Pankaj Kumar had reached Koderma station on Monday night by 13151 Kolkata-Jammuthavi Express to go to 'Gaya Junction' to meet his wife. The train was about to leave when it reached Koderma station. While trying to catch the train, Pankaj Kumar fell while running and became unconscious.
The people present at the station and the RPF personnel immediately picked him up and took him to a nearby private clinic. Seeing his serious condition there, he was referred to Sadar Hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. According to doctors, he died due to heart failure.
As soon as information about the incident was received on Tuesday, BDO of Markachho block, employees and other officials of the district reached Sadar Hospital. A wave of mourning spread in the block office due to the sudden demise of Pankaj Kumar.
A condolence meeting was organized at Markachho block headquarters on Tuesday for the peace of the departed soul. In the condolence meeting, everyone paid tribute to Pankaj Kumar by observing two minutes silence and expressed condolences to his family. Speakers in the meeting described Pankaj Kumar as a hardworking, friendly and dutiful employee and described his untimely demise as an irreparable loss for the block office.
Many officers and employees including Block Chief Vijay Kumar Singh, BDO Hulas Mahato, Circle Officer Parmeshwar Kushwaha, BPO Ravi Shankar, CI Nitish Kumar Yadav, Rajesh Yadav were present in the condolence meeting.
The block administration prayed to God to grant peace to the departed soul and provide strength to the bereaved family. The sudden demise of Pankaj Kumar is a deep shock not only for his family but also for his block office colleagues and the local administration.
