Parasnath Dubey passes away at the age of 96.
Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. 96-year-old Parasnath Dubey, who was close to former Prime Ministers Lal Bahadur Shastri and Vishwanath Pratap Singh, died on Tuesday. Parasnath, a resident of village Rajapur Malhua in Soraon tehsil, was a Congress leader. Parasnath Dubey had entered politics by holding the hand of Vijayalakshmi Pandit. He was 14 years old then. Due to his dedication and dedication towards the society, Parasnath became the confidant of senior leaders.
He also had close relations with former Chief Ministers Kamalapati Tripathi and Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna. To educate the children of rural areas, Mevalal Ayodhya Prasad Inter College was established.
On his request, on 26 April 1965, the then Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri came to Soraon and laid the foundation stone of the college. Parasnath remained active in politics till 1990. He remained associated with Congress throughout his life. Khadi and cap were his identity. People used to address him affectionately as “Netaji”.
The funeral will take place tomorrow
On the death of Parasnath, a condolence meeting was held at Mewalal Ayodhya Prasad Inter College. It was told that the last rites will be held on Wednesday at Chandrashekhar Azad Ghat (Rasoolabad Ghat) at 11 am. Dr. Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that Paras Nath not only laid the foundation of this school but also dedicated his life to shaping the future of thousands of students.
