Jagran correspondent, Aurangabad. The Transport Department team has taken action against passenger vehicles and overloaded trucks operating without permits and documents. During the action, officials seized a long distance passenger bus operating without a permit from near the city overbridge. This bus was going from Aurangabad towards Dhanbad.

When Additional District Transport Officer Santosh Kumar Singh demanded a permit related to the operation, no permit was presented by the driver and employees. Upon contacting the owner, it was confirmed that the bus did not have a permit, after which the vehicle was seized and a fine of Rs 1 lakh 54 thousand was imposed on the owner.

The ADTO clarified that operating long distance passenger buses without a permit is illegal and causes huge revenue loss to the state government. After this action, there is panic among the bus operators of the district. It is said that many buses passing through Aurangabad are running without valid permits.

Additional District Transport Officer has seized a Sumo from near Dani Bigha Bus Stand on Wednesday. Despite private registration, it was carrying passengers going to Patna. As soon as the investigation operation began, other drivers fled with their vehicles, due to which only one vehicle could be seized.

Three trucks loaded with coal were caught

During the investigation campaign conducted on GT Road under the leadership of District Transport Officer Sunanda Kumari, three overloaded trucks laden with coal were caught. The vehicles were found to be loaded more than the prescribed limit, for which a total fine of Rs 2 lakh 22 thousand was collected. DTO said that a daily campaign is being conducted against overloading and action is being taken against those who violate the rules.
