Digital Desk, Indore. A devotee who came to Ujjain from Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh to visit Mahakaleshwar temple died at the railway station due to deteriorating health. While catching the train, he gasped and fell down on the platform. Former international wrestler and Railway Chief Ticket Inspector Kripashankar Patel, who was present at the spot, immediately tried to save his life by giving CPR, but due to delay in treatment, he died in the hospital.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Sanju, son of Ramanand Rajwade, resident of Poonjnagar, police station Jaynagar, district Surajpur (Chhattisgarh). He had come to Ujjain on Sunday with his cousin Govardhan Rajwade and friends. After visiting Mahakaleshwar temple, everyone reached Ujjain railway station to return to Anuppur by Narmada Express.

As soon as the train reached platform number 6 at around 5:30 in the evening, Sanju started running towards the general coach. During this time he suddenly fell unconscious. His pulse was very weak. Chief Ticket Inspector posted at the spot and former Arjuna Awardee wrestler Kripashankar Patel started giving CPR without wasting time. Within some time, the passenger's condition improved and his pulse started becoming normal.
The incident was immediately informed to CMI Control Ratlam and a request was made to send a doctor, but there was a delay in the doctor's arrival. Meanwhile, Sanju's friends took him to Charak Hospital, where he died during treatment.
Railway officials said that Indian Railways provides regular training to its frontline employees in CPR and first aid, so that the lives of passengers can be saved in case of emergency. In this incident too, the passenger got relief for some time due to timely CPR, but unfortunately he could not be saved.
