Patna-Delhi flight fare reaches 60 thousand, Mumbai fare crosses 90 thousand

Jagran correspondent, Patna. The effect of continuous cancellation of Indigo Airlines flights was clearly visible at Patna Airport on Friday. A large number of passengers not only had to cancel their trips but also faced great difficulty in purchasing tickets of other airlines. Due to the sudden increase in demand, fares for flights to other metro cities including Delhi skyrocketed.

The biggest impact was seen on Saturday's Delhi flights. The fare for SpiceJet's Patna-Delhi flight at 9:40 pm on Saturday night increased to Rs 60,000, which is several times more than on normal days. At the same time, the fare for Delhi flight of Air India Express has also increased to Rs 20,000.

The airfare from Patna to Chennai on Saturday is more than Rs 41 thousand. Whereas on Sunday the fare has crossed Rs 46 thousand. On Sunday, the flight fare from Patna to Mumbai started from Rs 46 thousand and has crossed Rs 90 thousand.

The troubles of the passengers did not end here. Almost all the tickets of other airlines for Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai for December 6 are full. Air India now has tickets available for flights to Delhi and Mumbai only after three days. Sudden increase in demand and less availability of flights have pushed ticket prices to record levels.

There was a crowd of passengers at the airport since morning. There were long queues in the departure area for ticket cancellation, residual and refund. At the same time, due to flight cancellation in the arrival area, the entire complex looked quiet and almost empty.

Passengers say that they are not able to buy tickets even if they want to, because the fare has become so high that suddenly it has become difficult to travel. Some passengers said that if they had got the information earlier, they would have planned their travel by train or road.

After the cancellation of Indigo flights, the ticket crisis at Patna airport and the huge increase in fares have put the passengers in a difficult situation.
