Municipal Corporation collected record revenue of more than Rs 63 crore in nine months
Jagran correspondent, Patna. The Municipal Corporation has made remarkable achievements in the collection of property tax and solid waste management charges in the financial year 2025–26. According to the released data, from April 1 to December 29, revenue of more than Rs 63.15 crore has been collected from various circles.
During this period, tax collection took place from Azimabad, Bankipur, Kankarbagh, Nutan Rajdhani, Patliputra and Patna City circles. According to the P-Tax portal, of the total collection, about Rs 29.43 crore was received through offline and Rs 33.88 crore through online mode, which shows the increasing confidence of citizens towards digital payments.
Property tax payment was received from 1,77,503 holdings, of which 1,04,847 holdings made online payment. Zone-wise, tax collection was particularly good in Patliputra, Nutan Rajdhani and Bankipur circles.
Under the One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme implemented to settle pending dues, revenue of more than Rs 5.92 crore was received between December 9 and 29.
Of this, Rs 3.18 crore were collected offline and Rs 2.74 crore were collected through online medium. This scheme will remain effective till 31 March 2026. The Municipal Corporation has appealed to the citizens to cooperate in the city development by paying taxes on time.
