The WhatsApp chatbot run by the Municipal Corporation has achieved remarkable success in redressal of public complaints in the last two years and now this service has become even more useful for the citizens.
Through this chatbot, not only the complaints are being resolved quickly, but the payment of property tax has also become possible sitting at home. According to data received from the Municipal Corporation, a total of 13,937 complaints were registered on WhatsApp chatbot, out of which 13,396 complaints have been successfully resolved. Thus, the total complaint redressal rate has been 96 percent. Officials say that with the use of the digital platform, complaints are reaching the concerned departments directly, thereby ensuring timely action.
If we look at the department-wise figures, 97 percent of the complaints related to cleanliness have been resolved. 96 percent of the complaints related to electricity have been resolved, while 94 percent of the complaints related to water supply have been resolved. At the same time, up to 86 percent redressal has been recorded in engineering related complaints.
Municipal Corporation officials said that citizens can register their complaint by sending a message on WhatsApp chatbot number 9264447449, get information about its status and can now also pay property tax in a secure manner. This is not only saving time and resources, but is also giving relief to the citizens from visiting offices.
The Municipal Corporation says that the objective of this digital initiative is to make the capital a clean, well-organized and smart city. In the coming time, there is a plan to add more services through WhatsApp chatbot, so that more and more facilities can be made available to the citizens on a single platform. The corporation has appealed to the city residents to make maximum use of this service, so that efforts to improve the capital can get public support.
