Jagran correspondent, Shahjahanpur. Despite the continuous bright sunshine, there seems to be no respite from the cold. Melting continues due to cold wave.
The minimum mercury reached 4.6 on Tuesday, which was the lowest so far this season. The temperature has reached this low point for the second time in January. Meteorologists have predicted clear weather for the next few days.
The effect of snowfall on the mountains is visible here also. Due to icy wind the night temperature is falling considerably. There was bright sunshine during the day on Tuesday, but it was not effective due to strong wind throughout.
After evening the temperature started coming down due to which the melting increased. Dr. Manmohan Singh, scientist of the Meteorological Department of the Sugarcane Research Council, said that the wind direction is north-westerly, due to which the weather remains cold. He told that the fog will be light.
