The necessary material to replace the damaged joints and other structural parts of the bridge has been transported to Ramnagar area by NHAI. This includes iron joints, girders, wiring material and pressure jacks.

Modern expansion joints will be installed. Modern expansion joints like strip seal, finger type and modular will be installed in the repair work. Strip seal joints are capable of withstanding movements of 70 to 80 mm and make the bridge waterproof. Finger type joints handle large spans and reduce noise during traffic, while modular joints are used for movements in excess of 1000 mm.

The responsibility of repairing the bridge has been entrusted to Bareilly firm AM Builder and Infrastructure Private Limited. Supervisor of the firm, Panpal Singh, said that for the repair of this bridge built in the year 1984, it would be necessary to completely stop the traffic. Work is not possible without closing the bridge. The repair is expected to take about two months.
