Digital Desk, New Delhi. Senior Congress leader Minister Mani Shankar Aiyer has given a controversial statement regarding the Kerala Assembly elections. Mani Shankar Aiyar predicted his third term in office in the presence of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. However, Congress distanced itself from this.

In fact, senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar had arrived in Thiruvananthapuram to address the Kerala Government's Vision 2031 International Conference on Development and Democracy. During this time, this 'leftist love' of Iyer has created a huge uproar within the party.

What did Iyer say?

Iyer has said that Kerala is the only state in India which has moved forward in the footsteps of Gandhiji. Which has progressed. Apart from this, he expressed confidence that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan should retain his post in the upcoming assembly elections.

Iyer said, in the presence of the Chief Minister, in whose post I have full confidence, I reiterate my appeal, to make Kerala the best Panchayati Raj state in the country, the state law should be amended on the basis of practical experience. Therefore, Chief Minister Vijayan, I have to fall at your feet and request you to take forward this responsibility left by the Congress."

It is noteworthy that on one hand, Kerala Congress is preparing to return to power in the assembly elections to be held this year, on the other hand, this 'leftist love' of Aiyar has created a huge uproar within the party.

However, Congress has shrugged off this statement of Mani Shankar Aiyar. Senior Congress leader Pawan Kheda wrote on Twitter, "Mani Shankar Aiyar has no connection with the Congress for the last few years. He speaks and writes entirely in his personal capacity."
