Police Found Rs 44 Lakh In Cash In Liquor Raid In Samastipur, Now Income Tax Department Will Investigate

Jagran correspondent, Samastipur. Police raided a house in Saidpur market of Chakmahesi police station in the district. From where a huge amount of cash was recovered. Everyone was surprised to see cash in the house. This information was given to the local administrative officer.

On information, CO Shashi Ranjan Kumar also reached the spot. The said house belongs to Krishna Rai, son of Ramji Rai of Sahuri. The police have also taken him into custody and started interrogating him. Counting of cash was started under the supervision of administrative officials.

Police ordered note counting machine from the bank. Counting of notes started. Rs 44 lakh 500 were recovered from the house. Police have recovered the cash.

It was told that the police received secret information that some illegal activities were going on inside the house. Based on the information the police team conducted a raid. Where all the money was kept in a carton inside the house.

All the police personnel were stunned after seeing the cash. The police have informed the Income Tax Department officials about the recovery of cash. The Income Tax team will now investigate the matter further.

If sources are to be believed, the police had received information about liquor. It is possible that the said money is linked to the illegal liquor trade. Police Station Head Manish Kumar said that the home owner is being interrogated. He has asked to give the documents for the money. Information has been sent to the Income Tax Department. Action will be taken after investigation.
