Shukra Pradosh fast will be observed on 30th January. This day is considered very special for getting the blessings of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati as well as for happiness, prosperity and good fortune.
According to religious texts, when day and night meet at the time of sunset, it is called 'Pradosh Kaal'. It is believed that at this time Lord Shiva dances happily on Mount Kailash. At that time all the gods and goddesses are praising him. On the day of Shukra Pradosh, if a devotee selflessly worships Shiva and Shakti jointly, then he gets the virtuous results equal to donating 100 cows. This time is filled with positive energy of the universe. Therefore, the meditation and mantra chanting done during this period directly reaches Mahadev. Pradosh Vrat falling on Friday is also related to the planet 'Venus', the lord of material pleasures and opulence. 30 January 2026: Auspicious time for puja
This year, January 30 is the Trayodashi date of Shukla Paksha of Magh month. Pradosh Vrat puja is always performed in the evening i.e. 'Pradosh Kaal'. According to astrological calculations, the best time for puja is about 45 minutes before and 45 minutes after sunset. By worshiping Shiva in the evening on this day, sleeping luck also awakens.
According to the Panchang, Magh Shukla Trayodashi Tithi will start on January 30 at 11:09 AM and will end the next day on January 31 at 8:25 AM. The auspicious time of puja will be from 5:59 pm to 8:37 pm.
Correct method of worship (Step-by-Step)
Bath and resolution: And wear white colored clothes (white color is considered auspicious on Shukra Pradosh). Take a pledge to fast.
Shiva Abhishek: After taking bath again in Pradosh Kaal (evening), go to Shiva temple or anoint Shivalinga at home with Ganga water, milk, curd, honey and ghee.
Offering and adornment: Offer Belpatra, Dhatura and white flowers to Mahadev. Offer makeup items to Goddess Parvati.
Mantra and Aarti: Chant 'Om Namah Shivay' mantra and listen or read the story of Shukra Pradosh. At the end, perform aarti and ask for forgiveness.
