Jagran correspondent, West Delhi. The Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad (AATS) of the Western District Police has succeeded in nabbing a vicious criminal who is synonymous with terror in the area. The arrested accused Vipin alias Bhanja is a declared criminal of Sultanpuri police station.
Following this, the police have recovered five stolen two-wheelers, thereby solving five major theft cases. The vehicles include three scooties and two motorcycles.
Vicious hunter trapped in special drive
In view of the increasing incidents of vehicle theft and snatching in the Western District, a special team of AATS was formed on the instructions of DCP Darade Sharad Bhaskar.
Head constables Hoshiar, Kuldeep, Neeraj and other soldiers were included in this team formed under the supervision of ACP Vijay Singh under the leadership of Inspector Mukesh Meena. The team scanned the CCTV footage for several days and with the help of local intelligence, monitored the movement of the accused.
Nephew was captured after siege
On February 14, Vipin alias Bhanja was arrested after laying a trap on the basis of accurate information. According to the police, the arrested accused is very vicious and 34 criminal cases of serious crimes like robbery, snatching and Arms Act are already registered against him. He is a resident of Sultanpuri area and after coming out of jail, he was committing crimes again.
The mystery of these areas was solved
With the arrest of the accused, the police have solved five theft cases registered in different police stations of Delhi. Stolen vehicles have been recovered from Janakpuri, Tilak Nagar, Aman Vihar, Nihal Vihar and Keshav Puram areas. Police say that the interrogation of the accused is going on and we hope that this may provide clues to some more big gangs and incidents. At present he has been sent to judicial custody.
