One post vacant in the cabinet
One post is lying vacant in the state cabinet. The names of Sanjay Ratna and Ashish Butel from Kangra district and Sundar Thakur from Kullu are being mentioned in the race for the post of minister. At the same time, the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly is also to be made. In such a situation, one can also be made the Vice President.
Less than two years of tenure left
The state government has completed its three-year tenure. In such a situation, the remaining time of less than two years is very important for the government. In such a situation, whether the government expands its cabinet or makes political appointments, it will be done keeping in mind the regional and caste balance.
Sunder Thakur belongs to Kullu constituency and is a senior MLA. There is no minister from this district. The names of MLA Sanjay Ratna from Kangra district and Ashish Butel from Palampur are also in discussion. Sanjay Ratna's name also came into discussion for the post of Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. Either one of these two can get a big position.
There may be changes in departments
Earlier there was discussion that the government would drop one minister. If sources are to be believed, now its possibility seems less. However, there may be changes in the portfolios of ministers.
Discussion on constituting state executive also
Apart from the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, the Congress President is also in Delhi. There has also been discussion regarding the formation of Himachal Congress Executive. He became the Congress President about one and a half months ago. Till now only district presidents have been appointed. Neither the district executive has been formed nor have any appointments been made at the block level. The process of formation of PCC has not started yet. If sources are to be believed, this has also been discussed in detail. Everyone wants these appointments to be made before the Panchayat elections. The issue of district presidents in Shimla and Kinnaur has also been discussed.

The government's three-year term in power has completed in December.
