State President of Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Auditors Association Anirudh Dwivedi was arrested while taking bribe of Rs 50 thousand in return for audit of Gram Panchayats of Mundhapande block. The accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from the Village Development Officer. If the bribe was not paid, he was threatened to expose the shortcomings in the audit, after which the matter reached the Vigilance Establishment, Bareilly.
The team trapped the accused and arrested him for taking a bribe of Rs 50 thousand. The accused is working on the post of Senior Audit Officer (Cooperative Societies and Gram Panchayat). Just 15 days ago he was promoted to the post of Assistant Audit Officer. According to Bareilly Vigilance Establishment (Vigilance) team, Village Development Officer Ajay Kumar complained in the matter.
He told that the audit of Gram Panchayats Dupada Raniyather, Jagarampura, Lalpur Titari, Binawala Hirankheda and Bhitkheda of Mundhapande block was to be conducted for the financial year 2024-25. The accused demanded a bribe of Rs 3 lakh in return for the audit. On this he said that I am also a government employee. It is your job to audit. I will not be able to pay bribe.
Then the accused threatened to deliberately find shortcomings in the audit. Forced to take bribe. Then he said that he would not be able to pay the money at once. Then he asked to give the money in two to three times. Asked for an installment of Rs 50 thousand for the first time. Meanwhile, to teach the accused a lesson, a complaint was lodged with the Superintendent of Police, Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment, Bareilly Sector.
On Wednesday, the team arrested the accused while taking a bribe of Rs 50 thousand. SP Vigilance Establishment Bareilly Arvind Kumar said that an FIR has been registered against the accused in the Vigilance Establishment police station under the section of Prevention of Corruption Act. On Thursday, he will be produced before the Moradabad Anti Corruption Court and sent to jail.
Will be the first accused to go to jail from Moradabad Anti Corruption Court
Anti Corruption Court has recently been established in Moradabad. The judge has been appointed. This is the first trap action in Moradabad after the establishment of the court. Therefore, accused Anirudh Dwivedi will be the first accused to go to jail from Moradabad Anti Corruption Court.
Till now the Anti Corruption Court of Moradabad division was situated in Bareilly. In cases related to corruption in the five districts of Moradabad division, Moradabad, Amroha, Rampur, Sambhal and Bijnor, the accused were presented in Bareilly court. The action against the state president has created chaos in the organization as well.
