Jagran correspondent, Panchkula. Preparations for Census 2027 have intensified in Panchkula. Regarding this, Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma presided over an important meeting held in the auditorium of the District Secretariat.

In this meeting, he clarified that the notification for Census 2027 has been issued by the Office of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. This will be done with complete seriousness and transparency.

Census will be completely digital

The Deputy Commissioner said that Census 2027 will be the first completely digital census of the country, for which the administration will have to ensure concrete preparations from now on. He instructed all the concerned nodal officers and charge officers that all necessary steps should be taken in time to conduct the census work smoothly.

Emphasis given on data accuracy

In this important meeting, Dheeraj Kumar Johar from Directorate of Census Operations, Haryana gave detailed information about the process, technical framework and key points of digital census. He said that the progress and management of census work will be continuously monitored through the Census Monitoring and Management System (CMMS) portal.

Along with this, emphasis was also laid on the use of self-counting portal, public participation and accuracy of data.

Many important issues discussed in the meeting

In this meeting, many important issues including finalization of jurisdictional changes by December 31, 2025, issuance of notification to stabilize administrative boundaries, appointment of field officers, identification of slum areas, determination of special charges were discussed in detail.

Instructions for working in coordination

Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, while directing all the departments to work with mutual coordination, said that census is a national responsibility and negligence in it will not be tolerated at any level. He also assured full cooperation and support from the district administration to the Directorate of Census Operations, Haryana.
