State Bureau, Bhopal. Union Road Transport and National Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced the creation of a Tiger Tourism Corridor with the aim of strengthening wildlife tourism in Madhya Pradesh, but the surprising thing is that the Forest Department itself is unaware of this. National Highway Authority of India will do this work in collaboration with the state government. Forest Department will play an important role in this, but till now neither the Forest Department has been contacted nor any correspondence has been done.
CM has held meetings
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced the construction of Tiger Tourism Corridor during his stay in Jabalpur. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has also held meetings twice regarding this. Under the Corridor Project, it is proposed to upgrade the routes connecting Pench to Kanha, Kanha to Bandhavgarh and Bandhavgarh to Panna Tiger Reserve.
Tourism, employment will get a boost
This corridor, approximately 625 kilometers long, will ensure safe and controlled traffic. The government believes that this corridor will recognize Madhya Pradesh as a world class wildlife tourism centre, promote tourism activities and create employment opportunities at the local level. Early receipt of necessary administrative and statutory approvals will pave the way for timely implementation of the project, but at present no initiative is visible at the government level.
