Digital Desk, New Delhi. Famous OTT platform Netflix is trying to acquire Hollywood studio Warner Bros. Netflix has proposed $83 billion (7.48 lakh crore) for this. However, US President Donald Trump has strongly opposed it.
Trump says that Netflix has a huge market share. In such a situation, this deal can create problems. Trump has bluntly said that if this deal happens, he will also be a part of its meetings.
Trump, who arrived to attend the Kennedy Center Honor Award Ceremony, has expressed concern over the deal between Netflix and Warner Bros. Many big Hollywood celebrities are also strongly against this deal.
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos recently met Trump at the White House, after which Trump praised Netflix and said that this film is one of the greatest works in history.
Netflix will get a big franchise
However, if Netflix is successful in acquiring HBO Max and Warner Bros. Studios, then Netflix will be in possession of franchises like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.
CNN and Discovery will separate
This Netflix deal includes another twist. If this deal is confirmed, channels like CNN and Discovery will not be part of it. This channel will separate itself from Warner Bros. even before the deal is finalized.
