Due to pollution the water of Aami has turned black. Awakening

Samvad Sutra, Piprauli. The problems of the villagers have increased due to pollution of Aami river water. Water from many factories of Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) area is reaching the river. Due to pollution, farmers are not able to irrigate their fields. Problems like itching in the feet and skin diseases have started increasing among the farmers going to the fields through the river water.

The water coming out from the factories of Gida near Semrahwa Baba of Adilapar comes through Sariya Nala and meets the Aami River. The river water here has turned black. The villagers are now not allowing animals into the river. Animals are also falling ill due to drinking water. Many farmers of the village have farming land on the other side of the river.

Farmers come and go to their fields only after entering water. Due to entering water, they started suffering from itching and other skin diseases. Indresh, a resident of Cali, told that one has to pass through the river water.

Feet start itching due to dirty water. Sujit Kumar Yadav of Belwa Dadi said that we stop the animals from drinking the water of Aami river but if they drink it by mistake, they fall ill. Shailendra Singh of Bhagwanpur said that no concrete initiative is being taken to solve the problem.

Environmentalist Professor Dr. Govind Pandey told that due to dirty water (industrial waste, sewage etc.) flowing in the rivers, the water gets polluted. Due to this, the amount of dissolved oxygen in water decreases rapidly and the amount of biochemical oxygen increases.

Shivanand Mishra, Medical Officer in charge of Community Health Center Piprauli, said that to avoid skin diseases, avoid coming in direct contact with polluted water. Use coconut oil and go to the hospital for treatment.

In this regard, Sahjanwa SDM Keshari Nandan Tiwari said that the matter has come to his notice. This will be investigated. Officials of the Regional Pollution Control Board will be made aware of the problem.
