State Bureau, Jagran, Kolkata. Amid nationwide outrage over the atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh and the brutal killing of a Hindu youth, Dipu Das, by a mob, protests are intensifying in Bengal against the incident.

The protests reached the India-Bangladesh border on Wednesday. In protest against the barbaric murder, activists of Hindu organizations protested by blocking the path of import-export trucks coming to and from Bangladesh at several land ports (checkposts) of the India-Bangladesh international border in Bengal.

On the other hand, during the protest in Howrah district, a clash broke out between the police and BJP supporters, in which many workers were seriously injured.

Activists of Sanatani Aikya Parishad and other Hindu organizations, alleging atrocities on Hindus in the neighboring country, staged strong protests from South Asia's largest integrated check post ICP Petrapole and ICP Ghojadanga located on the India-Bangladesh border in North 24 Parganas district to Manoharpur Muchiya in Malda and Fulbari checkposts in Siliguri in North Bengal and Chengarabandha checkpost in Cooch Behar.

BJP workers were also involved in the protest. North 24 Parganas BJP MLA Ashok Kirtaniya led a procession from Jayantpur market towards Petrapole border. However, the Border Security Force (BSF) stopped the protesters near the zero point and put up barricades to prevent them from moving forward.

The protesters raised slogans and expressed strong protest against the interim government led by Mohammad Yunus in Bangladesh. During the march, Kirtaniya said that border trade should be suspended to teach the Bangladesh administration a lesson until the safety and rights of minorities in the neighboring country are ensured.
