PRB jawan attacked on false robbery information in Ballia, two arrested, main accused absconding.
Jagran correspondent, Pur (Ballia). A PRB jawan, who was called after giving false information of robbery, was beaten up in Veera Bhati village of Pakdi area on Friday night. After the incident, the police arrested two accused, while the main accused is still absconding.
Village resident Sujit Singh alias Loha Singh called PRB at around 8:30 pm on Friday night and informed about his car being robbed. As soon as the information was received, the PRB team of Uttar Pradesh Police reached the spot. PRV jawan Rohit Kumar said that no incident of car theft was found when he reached the spot.
Sujit Singh became angry during the investigation and the dispute escalated. It is alleged that he tried to strangulate the jawan by throwing him on the ground. Hearing the noise, the villagers reached the spot and intervened. Information about the incident was immediately given to Pakri police station in-charge Lalmani Saroj, who reached the spot with the police force and took the situation under control.
Police registered a case against three people on the complaint of jawan Rohit Kumar. In this case, Sujit Singh's father Baban Singh and Ramwati Devi have been arrested, while the main accused Sujit Singh alias Loha Singh is still out of police custody.
Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Area Officer Rasra Alok Gupta also reached the spot and gave instructions for the immediate arrest of the accused. Police say that the main accused already has a criminal record and efforts are being made to arrest him.
