Praveen Tiwari, Ayodhya. Research policy was made to increase research and its quality in Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University. In this, Rs 25 crore was preserved as a special fund, but in the last one year only Rs 1.25 lakh could be spent from this item.

Even the officials are stunned by the expenditure of such a small amount. Investigation into the reason is also underway. Only through this expenditure can the research activity of the university and the activeness of the scientists be ascertained.

A new research policy was made to enliven the academic environment in the university and promote quality research. To ensure that research activities are not disrupted, a fund was created. Its purpose is to avoid shortage of funds for research. This policy is applicable to university campus researchers.

In this, there is provision for expenditure on eligibility for PhD researchers and their guides, publication of research journal etc. There is an emphasis on "lab-to-land" research in collaboration with industry and other institutions. It was decided that an excellent supervisor and researcher would be rewarded.

Sources related to this policy say that the policy has been decided, but it is not being implemented smoothly. Many more measures will have to be taken to speed it up. It is said that the expenses incurred by researchers and scientists for traveling from here to elsewhere are also borne by this fund.

The reason for the low amount is being sought. Plans can be made for faster implementation of further research activities. Media in-charge RN Pandey refused to comment saying he had no information about it.
