An 18-year-old girl from PP Compound area of Ranchi has lodged an FIR in Chutia police station, making serious allegations of molestation and obscene acts against her maternal grandfather. The girl told the police that her maternal grandfather had been misbehaving with her for the last three years.
The incident started when he was 15 years old. According to the FIR lodged, the girl said that she had first informed her mother in this regard, but the mother scolded her and advised her not to tell anything to her father. The victim told that her father has been suffering from depression for the last 10 years, while the divorce case between the parents is going on in the court.
Due to this dispute, her mother left her and her brother and lived alone and the girl was studying in a girls hostel in the city. The girl told that during her testimony in the divorce case, she told for the first time in the court about the molestation done by her maternal grandfather.
Hearing this, his father expressed displeasure and asked why he did not tell him earlier. After this his father sent him out for studies. The victim says that even while she was away, memories of her maternal grandfather's misdeeds kept troubling her, due to which she started feeling mentally stressed.
According to the victim, after being under constant mental stress, she decided that it was necessary to inform the police about this matter, so that strict action could be taken against her maternal grandfather.
After this he reached Chutiya police station and registered a case against his maternal grandfather. After registering the case, the police has also recorded the statement of the girl in the court. According to police officials, investigation into the case is ongoing and further action will be taken after the investigation is completed.
