Jagran correspondent, Agra. A fraud was committed by taking a loan of Rs 325 crore from SBI in the name of a shoe exporting firm. The accused closed the firm without informing the bank. Due to non-repayment of the loan amount, the account became non-performing assets (NPA).
A complaint was lodged by the bank with the CBI as well as the Economic Offenses Wing, Lucknow. When the case was not registered even after complaining at Sikandra police station, they took recourse to the court. The deputy manager has filed a case against the firm and three partners on the orders of the court in Hariparvat police station.
On the orders of the court, Hariparvat police station registered a case
Arvind Kumar, Deputy Manager of SBI's Small and Medium Enterprises Municipal Credit Center (SMECC) branch located at Sanjay Place, has filed a case on the orders of the court against M/s Anha Export along with partners Anuradha Sehgal, resident of Industrial Area Sikandra, Siddhant Gupta, resident of Sector 93 Noida and Harshit Oberoi, resident of Kaveri Kaustubh, Sikandra.
In the case registered, it has been said that the accused had sanctioned a loan of Rs 325 crore under the SBI Gold Card Scheme in the name of partnership firm M/s Anha Export, which manufactures and exports leather shoes. The deed was made by the partners on 22 March 2021. The accused had mortgaged many of their properties with the bank.
The firm used to export shoes, the firm was closed without information
The partners of the firm deposited Rs 2 crore 50 lakh 59 thousand 913 in other personal accounts. From February 5, 2020 to July 13, 2021, the unit sanctioned by the loan was closed and a new unit named Oberoi Overseas was operated in the same premises. The bank was not informed in this regard, nor was permission taken. Also stopped paying the loan amount, due to which the account became Non-Performing Assets (NPA) on 28 June 2021.
The account was also declared a fraud in the report of the Bank's Fraud Identification Committee. On September 25, 2024, a complaint was made by the bank to the Economic Offenses Wing of Police, Lucknow. A complaint was also lodged with CBI. Inspector Hariparvat Neeraj Sharma said that the case was registered on the orders of the court. The case is being investigated.
Firm closed after taking loan
The fraud incident was carried out in a well-planned manner. The manager said that due to a dispute among the partners, the accounts of the firm became irregular. On March 22, 2021, as per the partnership deed, new partner Smriti Pandey was admitted into the firm. Old partners Anuradha Sehgal and Siddhant Gupta were retired. Personal guarantee of neither partner was issued by the bank. Nor were any new personal guarantors added. The bank was not informed about the addition of new partners.
According to the deputy manager, within a few months of taking the loan the firm was closed by the partners. A new unit named Oberoi Overseas was opened in the same premises by Harshit Oberoi. Neither the bank was informed nor permission was taken in this regard. The profit of the firm was also not deposited in the account.
The police were also put in the dock
SBI Deputy Manager Arvind Kumar has also put the Commissionerate Police in the dock. In the lawsuit, he has said that the matter was reported in Hariparvat police station in the year 2025, but the police did not register the case. After this, on 29 September 2025, the bank sent a complaint letter to the Police Commissioner by registered post. Even after this the case was not registered. After this the bank took refuge in the court. On the orders of the court, a case has been registered by Hariparvat police station.
