Three-four rats near the oxygen pipeline
The patients admitted in the ortho ward have made the video viral on social media. In this, three-four rats are seen near the oxygen pipeline and climbing up and down on it. Rats keep roaming in the wards, due to which the admitted patients are facing problems. A video of rats roaming in the medical ward is going viral on the internet media, leading to allegations of negligence on the hospital management.
Risk of infection and short circuit
There is a risk of infection and short circuit due to dampness and open electrical switch boards in the ward. There is also a possibility of patients being bitten. The family members complained to the nursing staff but no action was taken. Dainik Jagran does not confirm the video circulated. After the video surfaced, the Principal has ordered investigation along with spraying of medicines. On the instructions of the District Magistrate, the Principal has ordered an investigation and medicines have been sprayed in all the wards.
Principal Autonomous State Medical College, Dr. Dhananjay Shrikant Kotasthane said that medicines have been sprayed in the wards. An investigation has been ordered after the video went viral. He assured that any kind of negligence regarding the safety of patients will not be tolerated and investigation is ongoing. Spraying has been done in the wards so that all the animals that are there do not come into the wards and the ones that are left are destroyed. After spraying the medicines, all the rats that were visible in the ward have disappeared. Whose negligence is this? An investigation is being conducted. Safety of patients is our responsibility.

In the internet video, the rat runs here and there inside the ward. Electricity is seen jumping on the board and wires from the bed. He is also accessing the equipment and items used by the patient. The patient is sleeping on the bed. Patients and their family members say that this problem is not new. There is terror of rats in the ward since many days. Complaints were made several times to the nursing staff and doctors, but every time only assurance was received. Under compulsion, the family members had to make the matter public by making a video. In the video, a young man is also heard saying that he will post the video to Yogi ji.
Rat bite can cause disease
Doctor Dr. Rakesh Tiwari said that Ratbite Fever (RBF) is a rare bacterial disease which usually spreads through the bite of infected rats. RBF can also be spread when an infected rat scratches or comes in contact with rat saliva (spit), feces (poop) or urine (pee). RBF can be a serious and even life-threatening infection.
