Relief And Strictness Simultaneously For Brick Kiln Traders! New Tax Formula Implemented In Moradabad

The State Tax Department has taken an important decision to balance both strictness and relief regarding tax collection related to brick-kiln business in Moradabad zone. On Friday, a meeting was held with officials and members of Kiln Association in the office room of Additional Commissioner Grade-1 Ashok Kumar Singh.

It was decided that kiln traders paying tax of more than Rs 6 lakh will be exempted from regular investigation, while departmental action will continue against those paying tax less than this.

It was decided that vehicles of bricks being sent by trading firms through trucks outside the state including Uttarakhand will be thoroughly checked. In this regard, Additional Commissioner Grade-1 instructed Additional Commissioner Grade 2 SIB RA Seth present in the meeting to ensure enforcement action.

Additional Commissioner Grade-1 said that since the posting in Moradabad zone in May 2025, the bill collection campaign of brick kilns has been continuously intensified, as a result of which an increase of more than 50 percent has been recorded in the tax receipt on bricks as compared to last year.

During this, Kiln Association Patron Sunil Aggarwal, General Secretary Sanjeev Chaudhary, Abdul Wajid, Said Hussain, Parvez Alam, Mohammad Fahim were present. From the department's side, Joint Commissioner Mohit Gupta, Shailendra Gupta, Ankit Maurya etc. were present.

Two trolleys full of bricks caught at Joya Toll Tax Plaza

Moradabad: Mobile team Assistant Commissioner Pooja Dixit caught two tractor-trolleys filled with bricks at Zoya Toll Tax Plaza in Amroha, in which a case of double bill book came to light. Both the vehicles have been handed over to police custody.

Investigation found that bill numbers 371 and 380 of Balaji Brick Industries were issued from different books. Preliminary investigation shows the turnover should be more than Rs 1 crore, while sales of only Rs 23 lakh have been shown. Departmental action is ongoing in the matter.
