Responsibility Given To 100 'Krishi Sakhiyas' To Stop Chemical Water In Ganga, 6250 Farmers From 5 Blocks Included

Now the focus has been on the villages on the banks of the Ganga so that the farmers of these villages do chemical-free farming, so that chemical-laden water does not reach the Ganga. This project is also going on in other districts along the banks of Ganga.

This will also increase the income of farmers. For this, the responsibility of chemical-free farming in five blocks of Ganga Katri area has been given to Krishi Sakhis. Krishi Sakhis are not only giving information about the schemes to the farmers but also motivating them for chemical-free farming. This is being monitored by the authorities. Not only this, the farmers associated with it are also being given subsidy for organic seeds in Rabi and Kharif.

In the villages along the Ganga, during the rainy season, water containing chemicals from the fields reaches the Ganga. Initiative has been taken to stop this. However, many progressive farmers of the district are freeing themselves from chemicals.

Jeevamrit, Ghanamrit, green manure are being used in crops. Now the government's focus is on ensuring that farmers on the banks of the Ganga also do chemical-free farming. For this, five blocks on the banks of Ganga namely Unchahar, Dinshahgaura, Dalmau, Lalganj, Sareni have been selected.

Made 100 agricultural friends

100 Krishi Sakhis were formed in these blocks. In this, the women of the villages were given the responsibility of motivating the farmers by training them. 50 clusters have been formed in these blocks. 50 hectares of land has been taken in this. 125 farmers have been included in one cluster. These farmers are being given two thousand rupees each for sowing Kharif and Rabi crops and making Jeevamrit, Ghanamrit etc. Along with this, a subsidy of Rs 500 per acre is being given for organic seeds.
