Jagran correspondent, Motihari. The police has taken major action and announced reward against 100 criminals who committed various types of criminal incidents in East Champaran district.

Announcing the reward on a total of 100 people, Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat has made it clear that if the rewarded criminals do not surrender in the court within 10 days, then the police will take judicial order and confiscation action against them.

The name of Deva Gupta, husband of Motihari Mayor Preeti Gupta, is also included among those against whom reward has been announced. A reward of Rs 1 lakh has been announced on Deva. He recently contested elections from Motihari Assembly on Rashtriya Janata Dal ticket. He suffered a crushing defeat in the elections.

According to police records, a total of 28 criminal cases are registered against Deva. He is absconding in two of those cases. These are cases related to murder.

Apart from this, the 99 people against whom reward has been announced are vicious liquor traders involved in heinous criminal cases like land mafia, robbery, dacoity etc.

According to the information released by the police, among the liquor businessmen against whom reward money has been declared, the prominent names are Ranjit Gupta, resident of Surajpur Korea Tola of Pipra Kothi police station area, Rajesh Ram, resident of Wajidpur of Rajepur police station.

At the same time, a reward of twenty thousand has been announced against Indal Bhagat, a resident of Bathna of Motipur police station area of ​​Muzaffarpur district, accused in the robbery case.

It was told that along with the announcement of reward for a total of 100 people, a number has been issued by the Superintendent of Police. It has been said to give information on cellphone number 9031827100. This number belongs to SP. The information given on this will remain confidential. Also, they will get the prize money in lump sum.

Of the total hundred rewarded criminals, 17 are accused of murder, 8 of Arms Act, 10 of robbery, 3 of robbery, 52 of liquor case, 2 of land mafia, 1 of extortion, 3 of NDPS Act, 2 of rape and 2 of theft incidents. Depending on the charges, a reward ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 1 lakh has been announced on all of them.
