Road accident on Mumbai's coastal road.
Digital Desk, New Delhi. Three cars collided on Mumbai's Coastal Road after a car driver lost control. After which panic spread among the passengers walking on the road. The accident occurred on the Northbound carriageway near Naman Building in Worli and involved a Mercedes car and two taxis. All three vehicles were badly damaged in the collision and many people were injured.
According to officials, the taxi driver suffered minor injuries, while the young man driving the Mercedes suffered a left shoulder injury and was taken to Breach Candy Hospital for treatment. According to the information received, other passengers also suffered injuries, although no one's condition was serious.
Traffic affected due to accident
Due to the accident, traffic on the coastal road came to a halt for some time, causing traffic slowdown and jam during peak hours. As soon as information about the incident was received, Worli police reached the spot and started investigating the accident. Traffic gradually returned to normal after the damaged vehicles were removed from the road.
Police engaged in investigation of the accident
Police officials said they are investigating whether the collision occurred due to overspeeding, loss of control of the vehicle, or other reasons. The Coastal Road, considered a key thoroughfare to ease traffic in South Mumbai, has seen a steady increase in vehicular traffic since its opening, making safety and traffic management a growing concern for authorities.
