Jagran correspondent, Bhubaneswar. At the Power House intersection in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, a Hyva truck hit a car hard from behind and dragged it for about 20 meters. At the time of the accident, the car driver was waiting for the traffic signal to turn green and the car was standing near the traffic post.
According to the information, the car was completely stopped when a Haiva truck coming from behind hit it at high speed. The collision was so strong that the truck dragged it across the intersection for about 20 meters, after which it stopped. According to sources, the car was badly damaged after the collision and was completely crushed.
However, despite the magnitude of the accident, the car driver and owner did not suffer any physical injuries. Due to this accident, there was chaos for some time at the busy intersection and traffic was affected. As soon as the news of the incident was received, nearby local people also gathered at the spot.
Car owner narrated his scary moments
The car owner described the accident as a very near-death experience. He said that I was standing at the traffic signal and had just switched on the ignition when suddenly this truck came from nowhere and started dragging me.
He further told that I had closed my eyes and was completely sure that everything was over now. Later, when I opened my eyes, I realized that I had been dragged so far. I had assumed that I was dead.
Truck driver said fatigue was the reason
The truck driver told the police and local people that the accident occurred due to extreme fatigue. He said that he was driving the whole night without adequate rest and could not see the vehicle standing at the red light in time. At present, the police have registered the case and arrested the truck driver.
