Huge discount on old Kia Seltos
Auto Desk, New Delhi. Kia recently introduced its second generation new Seltos (2026), whose official launch and prices are to be revealed on January 2. Many major changes are seen in the new Seltos at the level of design, features and safety. Meanwhile, huge discounts of up to Rs 1.60 lakh are being given on the existing Kia Seltos at dealerships. In such a situation, the biggest question before the buyers is whether the old Seltos now becomes a more value for money deal, or would it be better to wait for the new Seltos?
Old Kia Seltos vs New Seltos: Design and styling
The current Kia Seltos is already known for its sporty design. At the same time, the new generation Seltos has been given a more muscular and premium look. The new Seltos features a new grille design, sharper lighting elements and a bolder lower grille. The side profile gets new panels, flush door handles and more dynamic wheel arches. At the rear, connected taillamps and rugged bumper with skid plates give it a distinct identity. However, the design completely depends on personal preference. If a buyer does not prefer major changes in styling and wants good savings, then the old Seltos can also satisfy him completely.

Size and space: advantage of the new Seltos
The new Seltos also goes ahead in terms of size. It is 95 mm longer, 30 mm wider and has 80 mm more wheelbase than the current model. With a length of 4,460 mm it becomes the longest SUV in its segment. Its direct benefit is found in cabin space and passenger comfort. Additionally, the boot space has also increased by 13 litres.
Same engine options in both
This is the point where the discount of Rs 1.60 lakh looks most attractive. Both the old and new Seltos get similar engine options. These include 115hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine option. All these options are available with both manual and automatic transmissions. The special thing is that Kia is using the same powertrain in the new Kia Seltos also, so taking the old generation model will not make any difference in this matter.
If you want the latest design, more space and advanced ADAS features and budget is not a big concern, then the new Kia Seltos will prove to be a better and more future-ready option. But if your priority is money-saving, strong features and the same reliable performance, then with a discount of Rs 1.60 lakh, the current Kia Seltos becomes a very strong VFM deal. Ultimately the decision depends on your need and budget.
